I post new blog articles here every week. Well, that’s my goal, anyway. Usually, I have articles written before they go live. I schedule them beforehand and no longer worry about it.
My days got away from me this week, though. I failed to write my post over the weekend. I figured I would write it during the week. That plan didn’t go as I intended, either. Now, it’s Tuesday night. My article should go live tomorrow. And I don’t feel like writing it.
So, I’m setting this up, instead.
Some people advocate for sucking it up and writing the post anyway. Personally, I don’t. For shorter articles, go for it. Sometimes, we have to get things done. Regardless of whether we want to or not.
But for long articles, I advise against it.
With long articles (like the ones I usually write here), not feeling up to writing becomes obvious. If I had forced myself to write, I would have rushed through the article. I would have rushed the research. Categories would be shorter and less thoughtful. Essentially, had I pushed through and just written the article, it wouldn’t be beneficial. Readers would not have enjoyed my usual thoughtful, long article. They would have received a rushed, shorter article with minimal professional benefit.
And that is not the reputation I am cultivating.
Anyway, I messed up with my scheduling this week. I made the mistake of procrastinating. And now I’m in this position. So, I won’t be posting my usual article.
I’ll be back at it next week.
